Body Contouring
Body care is not about lowering your weight but about refining your lines. We separate out whether fat, swelling, or firmness is the cause, then decide on the method.
Body Contouring
Body Contouring
The same area can look thicker for different reasons: localized fat, swelling from sluggish circulation, or loosened skin. When the cause differs, the method needed and the degree of change that can be expected differ as well. Cheongdam Laplace begins by explaining the difference between care that reduces weight and care that refines lines.
Recommended for
- Those whose weight stays steady but who find certain areas looking thicker
- Those bothered by areas that are hard to refine, such as the abdomen and flanks
- Those who feel their skin has loosened after weight loss
- Those who want to work on both the abdominal line and firmness after childbirth
- Those whose legs swell often and feel heavy by the evening
Our View
How we see it at Cheongdam Laplace
The process
01
Body consultation and measurement
We check the thickness and firmness of the areas of concern, your habits, and the line you are aiming for, and record the circumference.
02
Identifying the cause
We determine which predominates among fat, swelling, and loss of firmness, and plan the devices and number of sessions needed.
03
Area-by-area treatment
We apply the device area by area, checking temperature, suction strength, and skin response, and fine-tune as we go.
04
Comparing the progress
Change appears gradually, so we compare circumference and firmness at intervals of several weeks and set the next plan.

Frequently asked questions
Will my weight go down?
This care aims at changes in the circumference and line of a localized area, and it is not a treatment that greatly changes the number on the scale. If weight loss is also needed, we will discuss the direction for lifestyle management with you.
When can I see a change?
Changes in fat cells and collagen remodeling take time, so in many cases they are seen gradually over several weeks to two or three months after the procedure. The degree and timing vary from person to person, and we suggest following the course by comparing circumference month by month.
Can the treated area become thicker again?
If habits outside the treated area stay the same, body shape can change again. A procedure is a process of refining the line, and keeping up diet and activity levels helps carry the change further.
Can I have treatment during pregnancy or breastfeeding?
We do not recommend it during pregnancy, and after childbirth the possible timing differs depending on your recovery and whether you are breastfeeding. We will advise on when to start after checking the condition of your abdominal muscles and skin.
Precautions and possible side effects
- Redness, swelling, bruising, and tenderness may appear at the treated area for several days.
- After cooling-based methods, temporary reduced sensation or tingling may continue for a few weeks.
- In rare cases, a reaction in which fat at the treated area instead increases has been reported.
- Warmth or a localized burn may occur after radiofrequency and microwave procedures.
- Temporary unevenness that makes the skin surface look irregular may appear.
- Pregnancy, an implanted pacemaker, a hernia, and similar conditions may limit treatment.
Treatment results may vary depending on individual condition, and side effects may occur. Please confirm the details through a consultation with our medical staff.
